When we got to the hospital, Mom grabbed Charlie and rushed
him into the hospital. Then, all the hospital attendants rushed him into surgery. Charlie was so scared, and was screaming. But
actually while he was screaming he was up in heaven sitting on Jesus’ lap. Dad
could not stand the sound of his screaming; he ran down the hall and locked himself
in the bathroom. He was praying hard, and thinking how many good times he had
with Charlie. Tears streamed down his face, harder and harder each minute. Mom was sitting in the hall, and crying, all
of a sudden Mom thought about Jessie and I in the car. She ran out to us in the
car, and we were praying for our cute little Charlie. Mom called Uncle Craig
and Aunt Marsha to come pick us up. Then, mom ran back in the hospital; when
the surgeon came out and told her that his lungs collapsed, and that he would
probably make it. Dad came out of the bathroom, and went into the hospital
room. He saw his son, sicker than he had ever seen him.
